Dildar Yûnis Reuf or Dildar As we know him   the Kurdish poet and political activist in 1945 He wrote the Poem "Ey-Reqîb" (adopted as Kurdish national anthem)  Birth and study ========= He was born on February 20, 1918  in the town Koy-Sanjaq "one of Kurdistan's region towns around Erbil"  Kurdish People called him "Dildar" which means "the Lover,beau,someone in love " he finished his elementary & middle school in "Koy-Sanjaq" then moved to Kirkuk, to study at the secondary school after he finished his study in Kirkuk he decide to travel to the capital of Iraq "Baghdad" because of his desire of studying law in order to become a lawyer,and he graduated in 1945 Dildar loved to get and know more information even outside the school so he start to read books about Kurdish folklore, and about the literature and history of Europe while he was in the middle school. he was reading about greek,France,Turkey history which made s...

Dêrika Hemko the Kurdish city Location  ========= Located in the far north-east of Syria The town is about 20 km (12 mi) west of the Tigris "Dijla" river  which defines the triple border between Syria, Turkey and Iraq. According to the Syria Central Bureau of Statistics,Derik today is situated within the autonomous Federation of Northern Syria – Rojava. Population ========= about 27,000 in the 2004 census. 90% Kurds and 10% immigrants of Early twentieth century "Assyrians,Armenians,Arabs" Etymology ========= Derik or Dêrika Hemko or the Arabic name Al-Malikya There are several views about the origin or historical name of this city..... Dêrik means two roads in the Kurdish language "Di rêk, Du rêk" it was a swampy area,so there were only two ways to reach the town  for that reason, people start to call it derik Dêrika Hemko depending on the name of who built first house in that area and lived there,and his name was Hemko in 1981 the area was in Britain'...

who are the peshmerga and how the name has been selected ?? PEŞMERGA The Peşmerga phrase consider as a very important and holy word for kurdish people  this label only calling to the human who works with selflessness, sacrificing his life to get the fair rights and freedom for his people it was to hear this word really difficult and frightening between the followers of dictatorial regime and traitors, and thus turn into a source of arrested and trance in prison and death for everyone who hold the word Peşmerga... linguistically label  consists of two words, Peş=front and Merga= death....mean front of death ( death-defying) How the name has been selected and when history tells us that in one of the days of the republic of Mahabad met political and military leadership of the republic, led by Judge mohammad (the martyr) to find a label for kurdish fighters, at that time..one of the service men his name was "Ahmed Dasmal" entered to the meeting carrying a groups of teapots for th...

NEWROZ DAY every year on March 21 it's a traditional celebrating day of kurdish people Newroz is celebrated throughout the Middle East and central Asia as a start of new year and coming of spring, but for a Kurds people it's means more than that, it's day when a Kurdish people get them freedom, and it's take on the meaning of the hope for independence, at this day the kurdish people light fires and jump over the fires in celebration,   they also dress up in bright colored clothes,make apical foods,dance and sing to celebrate the coming of spring and the hope of freedom THE STORY   Once upon a time, there was a cruel commander whose name was Dehak (Zuhak), in Mesopotamia Maybe he wasn't called cruel before, maybe he was a good man, but there was something which made him to do bad things.
